Emmanuel Day School Potty Training Policy

Children MUST BE POTTY-TRAINED to attend preschool in the State of Rhode Island. If your child has more than one accident a day at school, we will phone you to come and change them. Again, this is not our policy, but the State of RI. We are not a licensed daycare and do not have the proper sanitary facilities to accept children who are not yet potty-trained.

We do ask if you have a child newly learned, please always pack a change of underpants, and wipes too. Pull-ups are not an acceptable change of pants.

Please be mindful about your “almost potty-trained” child. The summer is a great time to perfect the potty training and be ready and confident for the school start. If you feel like your child is on the fence at this point, please try very hard to finish working with them or wait until THEY are ready! Please try to understand this very delicate issue.
